Summer Camp Registration Today

The Schoolhouse of Rock Presents:

Summer Camps 2020

We still plan on having our usual Rock Band Camps this summer. We will be following all safety protocol and we will be limiting the number of participants to be in any single room at a time. We will be following whatever the current recommendations are from the World Health Organization and the CDC alongside some good old fashioned common sense.

SUMMMER ROCK BAND CAMPS

This year we will be alternating one week and two week long camp sessions. The full camp experience can still be enjoyed within the confines of a week. Yet, the two week camps allow bands that have already formed to get a TON of stuff accomplished– like recording a decent three song demo and a music video, designing and ordering merchandise and honing their live performance chops.

Session #4 (one week) July 6th – 10th

Monday through Friday, 10 am – 4 pm,

Ages 12 & Up, GIRLS ONLY SESSION

This session is pretty special. There a4re no boys allowed. Structured to encourage and cultivate their love and understanding of music without the distraction or pressure of playing with “the boys,” this session is guaranteed to instill pride and self-esteem in young people who identify as being female. All female-identifying instructors. All female-identifying musicians. No cell phones. No self-deprecating speech. No playing dumb. No apologizing.

It’s more than a typical camp. We will be focusing on using music to build self-esteem and hone a positive self-image. Our girls consistently out-perform their male counterparts academically all the way from grammar school through college, yet they are racked with anxiety and feelings of inadequacy at younger and younger ages. Along with team-building activities involving music and art, we’re also having successful, inspiring women from the community come in and speak to the girls. It’s gonna be AWESOME.

Final Performance will be on the last day of camp at 4 pm. Participants can invite as many friends and family as they’d like. Boys are allowed to watch the performance.

We provide the instruments, microphones, the amps, cables, accessories, guidance and inspiration. Final Performance will be on the last day of camp at 4 pm. Participants can invite as many friends and family as they’d like.

Interested applicants should submit a written essay as well as a two minute video explaining why they believe they deserve this opportunity.
